Description: Reclaiming You: Navigating Loss of Identity Through Career Change
Reclaiming You: Dealing with Loss of Identity – Reconnecting With Your Strengths and Self‑Value
With Corrine Thomas MSc (MAPP), Career & Wellbeing Coach

    Event Overview
Life transitions - whether through redundancy, career change, parenthood shifts, health challenges, or simply feeling “stuck” - can leave us questioning who we are.

Losing employment or being out of work for an extended period can be especially destabilising, shaking even the most confident professionals and triggering a profound loss of identity.

This practical workshop creates space to acknowledge the emotional impact of job loss while enabling participants to explore what is most meaningful and important to them. Drawing on insights from the grief curve and identity theory, the session normalises the emotional journey and reframes redundancy as a transition - not a definition.

    What this session offers
Through reflective exercises and practical strategies, you will have space to explore who you are beneath the roles you play and reconnect with your values, strengths, and interests. You will build a stronger, more authentic foundation for your next chapter.

    You will leave with:
    • An understanding of work identity
    • Normalising the emotional response
    • Acknowledging and processing loss.
    • Reclaiming control through knowing your values and strengths
This isn’t just about coping with change. It’s about redefining success on your terms and stepping forward with renewed confidence and direction.

This reflective and supportive session will be led by Corrine Thomas, a certified Executive Coach, certified NLP trainer, neuroscience practitioner and positive psychologist specialising in leadership, careers and resilience coaching.  She enjoys supporting professionals to navigate change and discover their potential, bringing meaning and a fresh sense of purpose to their work and lives.  Described as knowledgeable and insightful, Corrine believes everyone can flourish at work when they tap into their personal strengths and passions – and work in an environment where they are aligned with the purpose and values of their organisation.
